Nasser Abdulla Al Riyami holds an LLB in Law from Ain Shams University, Cairo, and an MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Loughborough University. He is a certified arbitrator and is licensed to appear before the Primary Courts, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Prior to joining K&Co., Nasser served for over 32 years at the Public Prosecution of Oman, retiring at the rank of Assistant Attorney General. Throughout his tenure, he held a range of positions across the Public Prosecution, including Head of the Public Funds Crimes Department, and served as Head of Legal for the Directorate General of Passports and Residence for seven years. He was also seconded to the Sultan’s Armed Forces for a period from 2008 to 2009.

During his time in public service, Nasser was involved in the drafting of a number of significant legislative instruments, including the Civil Status Law, Passport Law, Penal Law and the Combating Human Trafficking Law. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the legal and social magazine Community and Law, which he founded in 2015.

Following his retirement in December 2020, Nasser was engaged by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) as a Senior Criminal Justice Expert on Trafficking in Persons for the Arab Region, a role he continues to hold. In this capacity, he delivers training to judges, prosecutors and law enforcement officials across the region.

Nasser heads K&Co.’s criminal litigation practice and is a regular speaker at legal events in Oman and internationally.
